The Organization

FCOG is situated in East Columbus, Ohio and provides services and outreach to Columbus, OH and beyond, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For 41 years, FCOG has been led by visionary leader Bishop Timothy Clarke. FCOG also has an Executive Pastor, Joshua Kelly, and a Youth Pastor, George Fultz. FCOG has 25 employees and many dedicated volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Facilities Manager reports directly to Executive Pastor Kelly, with significant input and direction from Bishop Clarke and the Board of Trustees. The Manager is expected to lead with exceptional character and integrity, proven leadership and management skills, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships. The Manager must plan and oversee all department projects and establish and enforce policies and procedures. Additionally, the person will be responsible for the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all equipment used by the church.

The successful candidate will perform primary duties under the administrative direction of the Executive Pastor:

  • Create department budget.
  • Develop, issue, and manage RFP process.
  • Operate a Work Order Management System to facilitate work priorities. 
  • Facilitate repairs through personal work or coordination of staff, volunteers or outside contractors. This involves the repair of furniture, maintenance equipment, building surfaces, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
  • Meet at least bi-weekly with all ministry staff that use the building regularly to determine their needs and perceptions of the building maintenance status, cleanliness, maintenance, and custodial staff service attitudes.
  • Oversee and approve all department timecards.
  • Oversee insurance function to ensure organization assets are safeguarded from all liability.
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate with vendors supplying services, monitor building inspections, security patrol, coordination with police.
  • Oversee the daily workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the facilities department.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a proven record of leadership with at least five (5) years of supervisory experience of a facilities/equipment department. Applicants must possess at least an Associate’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, and a valid Ohio Driver’s license. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Must have skill in hand-on tasks, and must be capable of managing details as well as possess good people skills. The successful applicant must pass all pre-employment screenings including a background check and drug screening.

This position is expected to lead with exceptional character and integrity, proven leadership and management skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop strong working relationships. The Director must direct the church’s overall financial and accounting planning and practices, providing analysis and recommendations on all financial operations. Additionally, the person must be innovative and modernize the Finance Department’s policies, procedures, practices, etc. 

The successful candidate will perform primary duties under the administrative direction of the Executive Pastor:

  • Accept full responsibility for all Finance Department activities and services, including overseeing the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Finance Department goals, objectives, policies and priorities; ensure that established goals and priorities are achieved. 
  • Attend all Finance Committee and Trustee meetings, and maintain minutes of all Finance Committee meetings.
  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile all financial statements and related reports including but not limited to, statement of financial position (balance sheets), statement of activities (income statement), and statement of net assets, statement of cash flows, budgets, statement of functional expenses, and variance analysis. 
  • Oversee and approve all timecards
  • Oversee insurance function to ensure organization assets are safeguarded from all liability.
  • Manage all budget process activities; forecast all organization operational and financial aspects. 
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop accounting and finance managers; manage schedules and workflow.
  • Assist church members in processing contributions of securities and other property.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a proven record of leadership with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible full-time finance/accounting experience, with three (3) or more years of management responsibility. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a major in accounting, finance, or related discipline(s), and a valid Ohio Driver’s License. Having a working knowledge of Quickbooks, experience with ADP, and experience using Microsoft Office products preferred. The successful applicant must pass all pre-employment screenings including a background check and drug screening.
