Our Purpose

The purpose of the First Church of God is three-fold.

• To EXHALT Christ - we have been called to raise or to lift up the name of Jesus as the way to salvation, the Son of God and the Savior of the world. {John 3:14-18; John 12:32; 1 Corinthians 1:23-24}
• To EVANGELIZE The Lost - we have been called to spread the Gospel message to all of the world and make disciples of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. {Matthew 28:18-20}
• To EDIFY The Body - we have been called to "build up" the Body of Christ through the discovery and exercising of the spiritual gifts placed in us by the Holy Spirit of God. {Ephesians 4:7-16}

At First Church, we do this in a number of ways. We do this through our worship and praise, preaching and teaching, through Christian Education and cell groups, fellowship with one another and other assemblies of faith.
